    Question about Squirrelcart user accounts...

Occasionally I have customers email and ask me to access their user accounts in connection with an order. Do I have some sort of master access enabling me to do this? Also is there a way I can communicate with the customer through their cart i.e. send them a message that will be waiting there for them the next time they log in to their account?

No takers on this? Is there a messages module for the cart or some such?

    Hi there,

You can access your customer user accounts from the secure admin page.

With regards to leaving a custom message, I think this would need to be a custom change as there is no messaging service included in SC. You could however send them an email using the email address from their user account.

Thanks for responding Justin. I had already come to that conclusion and indeed going the email route was what I have been doing all along. I just thought it would be nice to have a dedicated messaging service through the cart since I have that very thing in most of the accounts I've created with other online vendors.

Access in what fashion? If you are trying to login as the customer, no that is not possible. If you are trying to access their account information, you can do that in the control panel:

    No
    Thanks,

All our modules are listed here:

You can send newsletter emails using our News module. While you could use that to email a single user, that wouldn't be very practical. As SketchWork mentioned, the best way to contact a customer is to email them using your regular email client.
    Thanks,
    Jamie

The message module wasn't critical I was just wondering.
